The CDI Schools
Most of the schools listed below are
part of the
Ford Foundation Campus Diversity
Initiative and have participated in
funded projects; some have worked with
consortia that have received Ford funding.
Each campus has at least one contact.
DiversityWeb also includes hundreds
of Institutional
Profiles describing the work of
individual colleges and universities
that have worked extensively on diversity
as an educational commitment. The schools
currently featured have all taken part
in the Ford Foundation Campus Diversity
Initiative (CDI) either individually
or through a variety of accociations
and consortia across the United States.
Some additional schools are profiled
and have been nominated to describe
their own efforts based on their promising
work on diversity issues.
The development of DiversityWeb was inspired in part by Diversity Connections, a graphically enticing electronic directory and relational database available on the Web and originally developed as a CDRom. Diversity Connections features profiles of colleges and universities and a more in-depth version of this database will be available in May of 1999.
