Associate Professor - Rutgers University Newark
The Division of Global Affairs, an interdisciplinary graduate program, and the Department of Economics at the Newark campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, located twenty minutes from Manhattan, have been authorized to make a joint appointment in the field of Global Political Economy. The search is open as to rank. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in either economics or political science, but must demonstrate a quantitative, empirical research agenda in some area of global economics such as (but not limited to) global health, international trade or finance, international political economy, immigration, natural resources or global environmental issues. Candidates should ideally have prior teaching experience in global political economy. Prior employment in a global public policy setting would also be viewed as a plus. The successful candidate will divide their teaching equally between the Division of Global Affairs (http://dga.rutgers.edu) and Economics (http://andromeda.rutgers.edu/~econnwk). The Division of Global Affairs offers M.A. and Ph.D. degrees; the Economics Department offers B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. The successful candidate should have a demonstrated capacity for effective interdisciplinary teaching in global political economy and an ability to teach aspects of applied economics, statistics or econometrics. Tenure will be granted in the Department of Economics, but responsibilities are equally divided between the two academic units. Associate Dean for Scholarly Resources and Research Services
The Associate Dean for Scholarly Resources and Research Services is responsible for the administration of the scholarly resources and research services of the Smathers Libraries, exclusive of the Health Science Center Libraries which reports directly to the Dean of University Libraries. The five branch library Chairs report directly to this position. In all, the Associate Dean for Scholarly Resources and Research Services coordinates the efforts of 116 staff and faculty with responsibilities for approximately $7,800,000 in appropriated funds for library materials. Assistant Professor, Political Science (Russian Politics) - Villanova University
The Department of Political Science at Villanova University invites applicants for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in the fall semester 2010. A Ph.D. in Political Science should be completed by June 30, 2010. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate (MA) courses on Russian politics and Russian foreign policy. The successful candidate will have knowledge of the Russian language and be a member of the Russian Area Studies Concentration (RASCON) program. We offer a 3-2 teaching load for the first three years. After a successful Third Year Review, a one-semester sabbatical is available in the fourth year and the 3-2 teaching load may be continued for another three years contingent on the publication record. Preference will be given to applicants who provide evidence of teaching effectiveness and show promise of a strong record of publication. Broad training in political science is expected.
