Associate Provost and Dean for Faculty Diversity andSupport - Barnard College

Barnard College-Office of the Provost invites application and nominations for the Associate Provost and Dean for Faculty Diversity and Support who will assume leadership responsibility for programs that facilitate the development of the Barnard faculty. Such activities include working with chairs and program directors to recruit and retain a diverse faculty, organizing new faculty orientation and junior faculty support, chairing the Faculty Grants Committee, and, in conjunction with the Provost and the Director of Institutional Support, initiating and supervising projects that support faculty development and curricular innovation. The Associate Provost also assumes leadership responsibility for institutional organization of accreditation reports, and, working with the Provost, Assistant Provost and the Institutional Research Analyst, for institutional assessment planning.

Additional Qualifications:
Qualifications include: Ph.D. in a liberal arts discipline; significant experience as a tenured faculty member in leadership roles, e.g. department or program chair, appointed and elected college-wide committees, or ten or more years of senior-level academic management experience; knowledge about successful programs to recruit and retain a diverse faculty (experience in leading such programs preferred); demonstrated capabilities to represent the Provost effectively in senior management situations; excellent communication skills, oral and written; strong computer skills for data management and analysis; ability to multitask, absorb detail while maintaining vision and establishing priorities; utmost discretion in dealing with confidential information; ability to be flexible and to work both independently and cooperatively; expertise in programmatic or institutional assessment preferred.

Assistant/Associate Professor of International Health - Harvard School of Public Health

Program Associate, Advisory Committee on Student Financial Assistance

The Advisory Committee on Student Financial Assistance is an independent federal committee created by Congress to advise Congress and the Secretary of Education on student aid and higher education policy. The primary purpose of the Committee is to make recommendations that will maintain and increase access to postsecondary education for low- and moderate-income students.

The Program Associate is an entry-level position with both administrative and programmatic responsibilities. The position will report to the Deputy Director, but will work very closely with all staff. Specific duties will depend upon the needs of Advisory Committee members and staff. Areas of responsibility and related duties may include assisting staff with the office & fiscal management, event planning, publications and media, legislative affairs and government relations, policy research and analysis, and external relations.

Minimum qualifications include B.A., experience and/or a strong interest in pursuing a career in higher education policy, strong analytical and organizational skills, proven administrative, budgetary, and communication skills, an ability to work effectively in a team environment, and an ability to handle multiple responsibilities. Candidates with experience working in a higher education or other policy-related environment, experience constructing and maintaining websites, strong quantitative research skills, and creative and energetic personality will receive preference.

Director, Institute for Research on Race & Public Policy, University of Illinois - Chicago

The University of Illinois at Chicago invites nominations and applications for the position of Director, Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy. The Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy is guided by an integrative research model which bridges basic policy-relevant scholarship and engaged policy research in three arenas: displacement, migration, and Diaspora; home and community institutions; and dynamics of race and ethnicity in a globalizing world. The Director initiates, develops, coordinates, and conducts research designed to improve knowledge and understanding of historically under-represented groups within the U.S.; develops and promotes faculty and student research activity; and oversees the budget and daily administration of the IRRPP. The Director is supported by a dedicated Executive Board comprised largely of faculty members and reports to an Administrative Council of college deans, chaired by the UIC Provost, for policy direction, and to the Dean of the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs for operations and management. We seek an individual with the ability, commitment, and enthusiasm to provide leadership to pursue our commitment to cross-racial/ethnic and cross- disciplinary research. We seek candidates with distinguished records of academic and administrative experience, and evidence of excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Director of TRiO Student Support Services Program - Mansfield University

TRiO - Director of TRiO Student Support Services Program. Mansfield University invites applications for a 12-month, Assistant Professor position contingent on grant renewal beginning the Spring 2008 semester. The initial grant award was for 2005-2010, and will be funded on an annual basis based on continued program funding and performance. Coordinate all aspects of the TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) Grant and monitor the responsibilities of the Student Support Services (SSS) Program staff.
